GF Food Shopping Guides
The following resources offer lists of commercial foods that are considered
gluten free. All of the lists should only be considered only as a starting
point, and
careful reading of labels should be done each and every time you buy a
product.
The manufacturers can and do change ingredients from time to time. The lists
do not take into account cross-contamination issues (gluten-containing products
produced in the same facilities as the GF products.) Keep in mind that the
safest and healthiest way to eat is to minimize processed foods.
Confused
when reading the labels? Click on the "Ingredients - Yes, No, Maybe" above,
or see the Clan Thompson's website common
ingredients list.

The Gluten Solution
www.theglutensolution.com/index
The Gluten Solution is a new service (as of 2/09) that already includes over 3000 products. It tells the GF status of the products, and whether they are made on cleaned production lines, dedicated lines, or in GF dedicated facilities. They also allow you to add additional food intolerances. You must register, but it is free for now (as of 3/09). Eventually they plan to charge $24.95 a year for a subscription. This seems similar to the Clan Thompson shopping guides, but with additional information.
From Denis Robison, cofounder: "Though we only have about 3000 products to date, we recently launched and are growing the list daily. Our website is the only resource where companies have agreed to an update schedule and to our GF Status standards. It finally gives us all easy access to some peace of mind, rather than some 'sexy' GF claims that aren't regularly verified. We also account for up to 16 different special diets at once (ex: GFCF). By offering a web-list, you can even access this information in-store by browsing on your handheld." 3/3/09
