Center for Celiac Research (CFCR), University of Maryland

CFCR was established in 1996. This mulitdisciplinary team conducts scientific and clinical research, including the recent landmark celiac disease prevalence study. The goal of the CFCR is to increase awareness of celiac disease in order to provide better care, better quality of life, and more adequate support for the celiac disease community.

The Warren Medical Research Center for Celiac Disease opened January, 2006. It aims to conduct state-of-the-art research in the area of Celiac Disease. In addition, the research center works in conjunction with an Adult and a Pediatric Celiac Clinic, both located in San Diego. These clinics are now seeing patients, and will eventually provide comprehensive medical care to individuals and families affected by Celiac Disease. Advocacy Groups/Foundations

American Celiac Disease Alliance (ACDA)
(formerly the American Celiac Task Force)

ACDA's goal is to be a federation of celiac organizations to advance education and advocate for individuals with celiac disease. The board is comprised of physicians, support groups, and industry representatives. Andrea Levario, J.D. is currently the Executive Director of ACDA.

National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA)

The NFCA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for Celiac Disease. It is "afffiliated with the leading researchers in the U.S. who are working toward this goal." It is a United Way Agency. The organization's website is full of good information about current CD news, current research, and CD information.
